The Hathaway Pavilion at Lily Lake is hosting a Roast for Senator John Wallace. This evening will be a fundraiser for the Lily Lake Pavilion, which is a registered Charity and Not for Profit Organization.

Officials at the Saint John Airport are pleased to secure results of the 2012 Agent’s Choice Awards as published by Canadian Travel Press.  The improved ranking places Saint John Airport (YSJ) with the highest ranking of all airports in New Brunswick, and second only to Halifax’s Stanfield Airport in Atlantic Canada (more)





ServiceSJ - Community Workshops and Online Workbook

As you may know, we have just finished the first two Community Workshops being held this month to ask about your priorities for the 2013 Budget, a process we’re calling ServiceSJ. If you have not already attended a Workshop, please join us next week at one of the final two Workshops taking place in Ward 3 on Wednesday September 19 at the Boys and Girls Club of Saint John (1 Paul Harris Street) and in Ward 4 on Thursday September 20 at the Forest Hills Baptist Church (36 Mountain Road). Each Workshop will begin at 6:00pm so please come a little early to register.


We would like to ask you to circulate this information to your stakeholders and encourage as many participants as possible to attend the Workshops or fill in the Workbook online. The Workbook and all project information can be found on the ServiceSJ website at http://www.saintjohn.ca/servicesj The online Workbook will be available until Monday October 1st so please, tell us what your priorities are and why, and help shape the 2013 City Budget process.

City staff members of the ServiceSJ Team are also available to assist your organization by supporting a group discussion around setting budget priorities. Join the Wellness Movement!!


On Friday Sept 14 and Saturday Sept 15, 2012 we will be hosting the Lifestyles Health & Wellness Expo at Harbour Station in Saint John N.B. The mission is to promote a healthier lifestyle for the people of southern N.B. through exhibits, seminars, presentations, demonstrations and the Good Life Fitness Challenge. We are planning for 50+ exhibitors, 100+ fitness challenge participants, participants under other themes with corporate, labour, schools and community participation, as well as 5,000+ public visitors over the 2 day event.

The benefactor of this expo will be the Children’s Wish Foundation. It is our goal to grant a wish to a sick child in southern N.B.

We invite you to join us in the opening ceremonies to launch this important event for the well being of our community. The opening will take place at 12 noon at Harbour Station on Friday Sept 14. In addition, we encourage you to join us in the Childrens Wish march taking place before the opening ceremonies starting at King Square leading to the opening ceremony at Harbour Station. In an effort to assist the provincial and municipal leaders in building on the Wellness Movement, we encourage you to join us in these events.

We hope you and members of your organization will encourage everyone to attend this event over the two day period.

It is our aim to educate and promote a healthier lifestyle and all the options available to people from all walks of life. The expo will focus on the health & Wellness of people in such areas as; Physical fitness, Healthy eating, nutrition, restaurant eating, work place wellness, financial health, mental health and more.
