Supporting Transfer of Learning Workshop

You’ve designed, developed, and delivered a wonderful training experience. Participants indicate very favourable responses in their post training surveys. You’re pumped!

Yet statistics tell us the average learner retains and applies only 20% of the knowledge and skills acquired once they’re back on the job. That’s a pretty sad state of affairs, not to mention an unacceptable Return on Investment (ROI) of training dollars spent. Factor in the cost associated with lost opportunity, and well, need I say more?

Transfer of learning is the white elephant in the room. As training professionals, we need to shine the spotlight onto this dark corner of our world. Before we develop learning transfer solutions, we need to better understand the root causes.

Join CSTD's NB Chapter for this interactive session where you will:

• Identify and discuss root causes for transfer failure
• Explore the foundational elements of a Learning Transfer Management Process
• Develop strategies to ensure transfer of learning

Speaker:
Michael Fleming has 15+ years of experience in analysis, design, development, and project management within the Training and Information Development sectors, and holds Diplomas in Instructional Design and Multimedia Learning Technologies.
