The Saint John Community Loan Fund is looking for an exceptional college or university student who will be returning to school in the fall to fill an important role with the organization this summer.
The Job – Coordinating the Youth Entrepreneurship Success (YES) Program
The successful candidate will ideally have some background in business; perhaps running their
own summer business or working with a family business. You have had experience as a camp
counsellor and activity organizer. You have experience developing ideas and planning programs.
Most of all, you need to have energy, creativity, a desire to work with youth, and the ability to
work solo. You are a wiz with social media. Having a car would help but not entirely necessary.

Celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Saint John Free Public Library

LIBRARY!
On June 13th at 2pm the public
is invited to help celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Saint John
Free Public Library at a Tea taking place at the Library in Market
Square.
In commemoration of the establishment of
Canada’s first FREE public Library, we are having a party! Thanks to the
storytelling skills of David Goss, you will hear about life in Saint John in
1883 from John Boyd, a local Saint John gentleman of 1883, who was well known
for his love of the theatre and his impersonation of Charles Dickens. Ian
Wilson, Director of the Fundy Library Region, has played a key role in the
development of library services in Saint John and he will share his insight and
some seldom seen photos illustrating the development of the Library. You
will see a slide show of current library programs and services with a commentary
by City Librarian, Joann Hamilton-Barry. Mayor (and Library Board Member)
Mel Norton will speak about his vision for the future of our city and our
library.

Increased demand and competitive fares yield strong winter break travel numbers at Saint John Airport!

Saint John, NB - Offering competitive prices for all-inclusive vacations to the tropical, widely popular locales of Cuba, Mexico and Dominican Republic, Sunwing Vacations and the Saint John Airport are pleased to report on a successful winter break travel season.
"We've seen about double the traffic on our spring break Sunwing Vacations flights over last year," says David Allen, CEO of the Saint John Airport. "This can be attributed to the recent addition of the Dominican Republic to Sunwing's destinations and quite simply, the competitive fares offered by the company. People don't need to shop around for the best price and top destinations - they can get it here at the Saint John Airport."
Often, smaller international airports compete on price with larger airports. More than ever, passengers are seeking a good deal, even if that means significantly more travel time to and from those larger airports, but Sunwing Vacations and the Saint John Airport offer the right price points, and direct flights, right here at home.
"Competition for the best flight deals is no longer local, or regional," explains Sunwing Vacations' Director of Atlantic Canada, Bob Sime. "In New Brunswick, we're also competing with Maine's international airports. But people in this region are choosing to fly with Sunwing out of the Saint John Airport because we offer great deals and direct flights to prime all-inclusive resorts. And it's incredibly convenient."
The Saint John Airport has Sunwing Vacations' largest program in Atlantic Canada, outside of Halifax. This can be attributed to local demand and the longstanding partnership between the airport and Sunwing Vacations.
"We launched our 2014 travel program with the Saint John Airport a few weeks ago," says Sime. "This is the earliest we have ever released an upcoming travel program, but people in this region are booking for 2014 already. The price is right and the demand is high, especially for group travel, like weddings and reunions."

Cox & Palmer ranks as a Best Place to Work in Atlantic Canada for the 5th consecutive year

award program was created by Progress
magazine and Best Companies Group to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in
Atlantic Canada, benefiting the region's economy, workforce and businesses.
The list is made up of 27 companies.

from across the region entered the two-part survey process to determine the
